The “bought” trophies
For the 22nd consecutive year, the “Oscars of the watch industry”, the “Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève” Awards, will be presented in Geneva at the Théâtre du Léman, according to the Foundation. I was there from the beginning and always believed in an objective award ceremony. Over the years – I have been in the watch industry for over 47 years – I have resigned myself. First of all, the watch manufacturer has to pay for the participation, respectively for the submitted watch models, and not a little. And secondly, the jury, which is actually composed only of the watch journo, is demonstrably corrupt. Actually, I no longer report on “fake news”, but we make an exception in the sense of investigative reporting
