Wei Koh appointed President of the GPHG Jury

The Foundation of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) is honoured to announce the appointment of Wei Koh as President of its Jury for the 2026 edition.

Publisher, entrepreneur, journalist and filmmaker, Wei Koh is a key figure on the international watchmaking scene. Founder of Revolution and The Rake magazines, he is acknowledged worldwide for his technical expertise, encyclopaedic knowledge of brand history, as well as his global and strategic vision of the industry.

“Watchmaking has given me everything. It has given me my profession. It has given me my passion. It has given me my friendships. It has given me my community. Which is why it is my mission to always champion and protect the values of true, authentic horology to the best of my ability and to uplift this craft that I love so much. Watchmaking is the unique cynosure where engineering meets artisanship and science meets art. To me the GPHG celebrates the very best of our utterly unique world. To say that the appointment as President of the Jury of the GPHG is profoundly moving and one of the greatest honours of my life would be a woefully inadequate understatement. While I have ambitions for the Jury’s evolution and would love to enhance the global awareness of our vital initiative, for the moment I simply want to express my immense gratitude and respect for my predecessor the amazing Nick Foulkes. I would also like to thank Raymond Loretan, Carine Maillard and the board of GPHG for bestowing this honour upon me and I am keenly aware of the significant responsibility that it entails. To the entire watchmaking community which I like to think of as one extended family, I can’t wait for our reunion this November. Thank you for the trust.”

Raymond LoretanPresident of the GPHG Foundation, emphasizes:
“Wei Koh is one of the most well-respected voices in contemporary watchmaking. His intimate knowledge of the watchmaking world, his independent perspective as well as his contagious passion make him the ideal president for the GPHG Jury. Within a globalized watch industry, his international experience will help strengthen the GPHG’s role as the global benchmark for highlighting horological creativity and excellence.”

Nick Foulkes, President of the Jury from 2021 to 2025:
“It has been my immense pleasure and privilege to have served as Jury President of the last five editions of the GPHG. Now that the time has come for me to step aside, I am more than delighted that this important and prestigious position is to be filled by the inimitable Wei Koh. I look forward to see him apply his unique vision, immense energy and boundless enthusiasm to the role. I hope that he will enjoy it as much as I have.”

A rigorous selection process:
The GPHG Jury intervenes during the second round of voting. Its members meet behind closed doors a few days before the awards ceremony to physically evaluate each of the 90 timepieces nominated by the GPHG Academy. Voting is conducted by secret ballot under notarial supervision.
In parallel, members of the Academy composed of around a thousand experts vote digitally. Their votes count for one-third of the final result, thus ensuring a balanced and representative list of prize-winners.
The composition of the 2026 Jury will be officially announced in mid-September.

The 2026 awards ceremony will take place on Saturday 7 November at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices in Geneva.
